Jesus said, “Give and it will be given to you, full measure, pressed down, running so much over that men will heap it into your arms.” Luke 6:38

Everything we have is a gift from God. He gives it to us to enjoy and to share with others. When we are generous and willing to share, God provides us with more so we can give more away. God will never be outdone in generosity. He challenges us in the book of Malachi 3:10 to “Test me in this… see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room for it.”

God is challenging us to be like Him. God wants to instill in us a pure, giving heart – to share without thinking, lend without calculating, and give without counting the cost. He wants our intents to be pure – we are not to pretend to be generous. He wants us to give even when we think we need to keep. God wants us to trust Him when we give. As we give we are to be good “stewards” of our money – to be responsible as well as generous.

God promises that when we give He will always take care of us. Money will stop being a source of anxiety and become a source of adventure. God has a lot of money. So, stop worrying about your bankbook. It’s the easiest thing in the world for God to make a deposit in your account. If you have any doubts about this, just go ahead – test Him and pray… God, increase my generosity. May my giving reflect and extend yours. Make me a big giver like you.
